Couple photographer
in Paris

I’m Quentin, a couple photographer in Paris creating timeless and intimate couple portraits, shot first on film. A couple session with me is a relaxed two-hour walk through the city: no stiff posing, just the two of you, photographed the way you actually are together. We shape the route around what you want: we can plan it together, or you can leave it entirely to me. Either way, I handle the timing and the light so all you have to do is show up.

Couple portraits in Paris that feel true, not staged

A couple session in Paris is two hours that belong entirely to you. We meet at a spot we’ve chosen together, and we walk: through quiet streets, along the river, under the trees of a garden, wherever suits the two of you best. I photograph you moving, talking, laughing, pausing, rather than holding fixed poses in front of a fixed background. The aim is simple: couple portraits in Paris that look like you on an ordinary, happy day, not like a photoshoot.

What I care about most isn’t the location or the pose: it’s the connection between you. Before I raise the camera I want to know how you found each other and the small details that are entirely your own, because the more I understand your story, the more honestly I can tell it. That’s what makes the difference between a nice photo of two people standing in Paris and a real couple portrait that still feels like you years from now. Timeless and intimate is the whole point: tender rather than performed, true rather than staged.

A session works for any reason, or no particular reason at all. Couples book me to mark an anniversary, a honeymoon or a first trip to Paris together; to celebrate an engagement; to plan a proposal; or simply because they want one good set of photographs of this chapter of their life. Whatever brings you here, the session is built the same way: around the two of you, at an unhurried pace, on film.

The experience

How a couple session in Paris works

Most couples who book me have never done a proper photoshoot, and tell me beforehand that they feel awkward in front of a camera. That’s normal, and the session is built to handle it. Everything is planned in advance so there are no decisions to make on the day: I send you the meeting point and timing, suggest what to wear, and we settle the route beforehand. Some couples have a clear idea of where they want to be photographed and we build it together; others would rather leave it to me, and I map a route I know works, with set moments along the way. Structured, but never stiff. Within the first ten minutes of walking and talking, almost everyone forgets the camera is there.

On the day, I give gentle direction rather than poses: where to walk, where to look, a prompt to react to, then a moment to yourselves while I keep shooting. You don’t need to know what to do with your hands, and you don’t need to perform. My job is to put you at ease and catch the real moments in between: that’s where the best couple portraits come from. The session lasts at least two hours, because good photography takes time, especially on film, and because the relaxed pace is exactly what makes the images feel natural. Afterwards I hand-edit your selects and deliver them in a private online gallery.

Shot on film

A film-first couple photographer in Paris

I’m a film-first photographer: I shoot film first, and digital alongside it when it helps. Film is a deliberate choice, not nostalgia. It slows the session down, which is exactly what couple portraits need, and it renders skin, colour and light in a way digital still struggles to match. The grain and tones give the images a timeless quality, so they won’t look dated in five years the way an over-edited digital gallery can. For a 2-hour session you’ll receive around 25 individually edited high-resolution images.

Film also handles Paris weather better than people expect. There’s no such thing as bad weather for couple portraits: overcast skies give soft, even light, and rain renders beautifully on film, adding mood, texture and depth you simply can’t plan for. So if the forecast looks grey, don’t worry: some of my favourite couple portraits in Paris were made on exactly those days. I bring an editorial eye and a documentary instinct to every session, on film, capturing not just how you look but how you feel when you’re together.

A couple photographer in Paris who captures the way you are together

My name is Quentin, and I’m a couple photographer based in Paris. I’ve been drawn to photography for as long as I can remember, first as a way of paying attention to the world, then as a way of holding onto it. I work on both digital and film, photographing couples in all the corners of the city.

What sets my work apart isn’t a location or a pose: it’s connection. Before I ever raise the camera, I want to know what makes you laugh, how you found each other, the small details that are entirely your own. The more I understand your story, the more honestly I can tell it. My couple portraits in Paris are built on that intimacy: timeless and intimate images that feel true rather than staged, tender rather than performed.

Whether it’s a first shoot together, an engagement, or simply a reason to mark where you are right now, I bring an editorial eye and a documentary instinct to every session: capturing not just how you look, but how you feel when you’re with each other.

As a couple photographer in Paris, my hope is that years from now, these photographs still feel like you, proof of a timeless and intimate kind of love.

FAQ

Your questions about a couple session in Paris

How much does a couple session in Paris cost?

A couple session starts from 649 euros for a 2-hour portrait session. It includes the planning (route, timing, outfit advice), the shoot itself, and a private online gallery of individually edited high-resolution images. There are no hidden extras: the rate is the same wherever in Paris we shoot.

How long is the session and how many photos do we get?

Sessions last at least two hours, which gives us time to walk at a relaxed pace, because great photography takes time, especially on film. I shoot first on film, and can shoot digital alongside if you prefer. For a 2-hour session on film you'll receive around 25 individually edited high-resolution images, delivered in a private online gallery.

We're not photogenic and we feel awkward in front of a camera. Is that a problem?

Not at all: it's the most common thing couples tell me, and the whole session is built around it. I give gentle direction rather than poses, and we spend the first few minutes just walking and talking. Almost everyone relaxes within ten minutes and forgets the camera is there. You don't need experience: that's my job.

What should we wear for a couple session in Paris?

Wear something you feel like yourselves in: coordinated rather than matching, in calm tones that suit the city's stone and greenery, and comfortable shoes since we'll be walking. Avoid large logos and very bright neon colours, which date quickly. I send detailed outfit advice once your session is booked, tailored to the season and the spot we choose.

What happens if it rains?

We shoot anyway, and the results are often the best of all. There's no such thing as bad weather for couple portraits: overcast light is soft and flattering, and rain renders beautifully on film, adding mood and texture. If a real storm is forecast we'll simply move to another day, but grey skies are never a reason to cancel.

Where in Paris will the session take place?

Wherever suits you. Popular choices are Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower and Trocadéro, the Jardin des Tuileries and the Quais de Seine, but the city is full of options and I'll suggest the right spot for the look you want and the time of year. Each location has its own page with detailed advice if you'd like to explore.
