Couple photographer
in the Jardin des Tuileries

I’m Quentin, a couple photographer in Paris, creating timeless and intimate couple portraits in the Jardin des Tuileries, shot first on film. Between the Louvre and the Concorde, the long tree-lined alleys and the basins give us a calm, classical setting in the very centre of the city.

Couple photoshoot in the Jardin des Tuileries: trees, basins and classical Paris

The Jardin des Tuileries is the formal heart of Paris, laid out in straight lines between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde. For a couple photoshoot, that order is a gift: the long gravel alleys run dead straight under the trees, the two big basins sit at each end with their green metal chairs, and the Arc du Carrousel closes the view toward the Louvre. Within a short walk you move from open, classical perspectives to intimate corners under the canopy. Few central locations give couple portraits this much structure and calm at once.

The garden works at almost any hour, which is what makes it so reliable. At sunrise, just after the gates open, the alleys are nearly empty and the light is soft. In autumn the chestnuts turn and the whole garden warms up. But the Tuileries also holds up at midday, when most outdoor spots in Paris are too harsh: the trees throw deep, even shade, so we can shoot clean portraits under the canopy while the gravel and basins stay bright behind you. I’ll recommend the right hour for the day we choose.

We usually meet at the Louvre end, by the Arc du Carrousel, and work westward through the garden: the shaded side alleys first, then the round basin with its chairs, finishing toward the Concorde end if the light is right. I know which alleys keep their shade through the middle of the day and which corners stay quiet away from the central path. The Tuileries is open and easy to reach, right on line 1, and there’s a café in the garden if you need a pause. You just have to show up together: I’ll handle the route.

My approach

How I photograph couples in the Jardin des Tuileries

The garden is built for walking, so that’s how we work: no fixed poses on a fixed spot, just the two of you moving down the alleys. The Tuileries does half the job for me: the straight rows of trees create natural depth, the basins give open backgrounds, and the canopy provides even shade exactly where I want it. I’ll have you walk an alley hand in hand, sit at the edge of the basin, pause on the green chairs: small, true moments rather than performances.

I’m a film-first photographer, and the Tuileries suits film well: the muted greens, the gravel and the classical stone hold up beautifully on it. Expect gentle direction rather than posing: a prompt, a walk, a moment to yourselves while I keep shooting. The result is what I aim for everywhere: timeless and intimate couple portraits that feel true rather than staged.

A couple photographer in Paris who captures the way you are together

My name is Quentin, and I’m a couple photographer based in Paris. I’ve been drawn to photography for as long as I can remember, first as a way of paying attention to the world, then as a way of holding onto it. I’ve spent countless mornings in the Jardin des Tuileries, working the shade of its alleys at every season, and it remains one of my favourite places to photograph couples. I shoot first on film, photographing couples in all the corners of the city.

What sets my work apart isn’t a location or a pose: it’s connection. Before I ever raise the camera, I want to know what makes you laugh, how you found each other, the small details that are entirely your own. The more I understand your story, the more honestly I can tell it. My couple portraits in Paris are built on that intimacy: timeless and intimate images that feel true rather than staged, tender rather than performed.

Whether it’s a first shoot together, an engagement, or simply a reason to mark where you are right now, I bring an editorial eye and a documentary instinct to every session: capturing not just how you look, but how you feel when you’re with each other.

As a couple photographer in Paris, my hope is that years from now, these photographs still feel like you, proof of a timeless and intimate kind of love.

FAQ

Your questions about a couple photoshoot in the Jardin des Tuileries

How much does a couple photoshoot in the Jardin des Tuileries cost?

Couple sessions in the Tuileries start from €649 for a 2-hour portrait session: the same rate as anywhere in Paris. It includes preparation (route, timing, outfit advice), the shoot, and a private gallery of individually edited high-resolution images. Full details are on the pricing page.

What is the best time of day for a couple photoshoot in the Jardin des Tuileries?

The garden is unusually flexible. Sunrise, just after the gates open, gives you empty alleys and soft light. But unlike most Paris spots, the Tuileries also works well at midday: the trees throw deep, even shade, so portraits stay clean while the rest of the garden is bright. Autumn is the most beautiful season of all. I’ll recommend the ideal hour for the day you choose.

Can we still do a couple photoshoot in the Tuileries in the middle of the day?

Yes, and it’s one of the few central locations where midday genuinely works. The tree-lined alleys are deeply shaded, so I can place you under the canopy for soft, even light while the basins and gravel stay bright behind you. It means we’re not tied to sunrise: a Tuileries session can happen when it suits your day.

Which spots in the Jardin des Tuileries are best for couple portraits?

My favourites: the long tree-lined alleys for depth and shade, the two big basins with their green metal chairs, the statues and clipped hedges, and the view toward the Arc du Carrousel and the Louvre. A single session can cover all of them on foot, from the Louvre end toward the Concorde.

How long does a couple session in the Jardin des Tuileries last, and how many photos do we get?

My couple sessions in the Tuileries last for at least 2 hours: enough time to walk the garden at a relaxed pace, because great photography takes time, especially on film. I shoot first on film, and can shoot digital alongside if you prefer. For a 2-hour session on film you’ll receive around 25 individually edited high-resolution images, delivered in a private online gallery.

Do you photograph proposals and engagements in the Jardin des Tuileries?

Absolutely: the Tuileries is a classic place in Paris to propose, with quiet alleys and corners by the basins for a discreet setup. I’ll help you pick the spot, stay hidden until the moment, and capture the surprise as it happens, then we continue with a full engagement session through the garden.
