on the Quais de Seine
I’m Quentin, a couple photographer in Paris, creating timeless and intimate couple portraits along the Quais de Seine, shot first on film. Down on the stone quays, below street level, the city slows down: just the river, the bridges and the two of you.

Couple photoshoot on the Quais de Seine: stone quays, bridges and river light
The Seine is the thread that holds Paris together, and its quays are where the city feels most like itself. One level below the traffic, a couple photoshoot here moves on foot from one setting to the next: the quiet façades of the Quai de Bourbon on Île Saint-Louis, the arches of Pont Marie, Notre-Dame rising behind Pont de la Tournelle, and further west the ornate lampposts of Pont Alexandre III. Few places give couple portraits this mix of intimacy and grandeur.

The Quais de Seine work nearly all day, which makes them one of the most flexible locations in Paris. For portraits, though, especially in summer, sunrise or sunset is the better choice: the quays are calmer at those hours, and the pace suits a relaxed walk along the water. Whatever the season, I’ll recommend the right time for the route you choose.

We usually meet near Notre-Dame, by Saint-Michel, and let the river set the route: down to the lower quays, along the left bank facing Île de la Cité, across to Île Saint-Louis and the Quai de Bourbon, finishing under the arches of Pont Marie or Pont de la Tournelle. Prefer something grander? We start at Pont Alexandre III instead. The lower quays stay calm even when the streets above are full: a few steps down, and Paris goes quiet.
My approach
How I photograph couples on the Quais de Seine
The river is made for walking, so that’s how we work: no fixed poses on a fixed spot, just the two of you moving along the water. The quays do half the work: bridge arches frame you in stone, the riverbank gives every image depth. I’ll have you cross a bridge hand in hand, pause at the parapet, sit at the water’s edge: small, true moments rather than performances.
I’m a film-first photographer, and the river suits film: muted colours and textures that hold up in any season. Expect gentle direction rather than posing: a prompt, a walk, a moment to yourselves while I keep shooting. The result is what I aim for everywhere: timeless and intimate couple portraits that feel true rather than staged.

A couple photographer in Paris who captures the way you are together
My name is Quentin, and I’m a couple photographer based in Paris. I’ve been drawn to photography for as long as I can remember, first as a way of paying attention to the world, then as a way of holding onto it. I’ve walked the quays of the Seine at every hour, watching the city change along the water, and the river remains one of my favourite places to photograph couples. I shoot first on film, photographing couples in all the corners of the city.
What sets my work apart isn’t a location or a pose: it’s connection. Before I ever raise the camera, I want to know what makes you laugh, how you found each other, the small details that are entirely your own. The more I understand your story, the more honestly I can tell it. My couple portraits in Paris are built on that intimacy: timeless and intimate images that feel true rather than staged, tender rather than performed.
Whether it’s a first shoot together, an engagement, or simply a reason to mark where you are right now, I bring an editorial eye and a documentary instinct to every session: capturing not just how you look, but how you feel when you’re with each other.
As a couple photographer in Paris, my hope is that years from now, these photographs still feel like you, proof of a timeless and intimate kind of love.

Your questions about a couple photoshoot on the Quais de Seine
How much does a couple photoshoot on the Quais de Seine cost?
Couple sessions on the Quais de Seine start from €649 for a 2-hour portrait session: the same rate as anywhere in Paris. It includes preparation (route, timing, outfit advice), the shoot, and a private gallery of individually edited high-resolution images. Full details are on the pricing page.
What is the best time of day for a couple photoshoot on the Quais de Seine?
The river works nearly all day, which makes it one of the most flexible spots in Paris. For portraits, though, especially in summer, sunrise and sunset are best: the quays are emptier and the conditions are at their most reliable. I’ll recommend the ideal hour for the route you choose.
Which bridges along the Seine are best for couple portraits?
My favourites: Pont Marie and Pont de la Tournelle on the east side, with Notre-Dame rising behind you; the quiet Quai de Bourbon on Île Saint-Louis; and Pont Alexandre III with its ornate lampposts and the Grand Palais behind. One session can cover the eastern islands on foot; Alexandre III works best as its own starting point.
Can we combine the Quais de Seine with another location?
Easily: the river connects half of Paris. From the quays we can walk up to Notre-Dame or the Marais, reach the Louvre and the Tuileries along the water, or start at Pont Alexandre III near the Eiffel Tower. Sessions of 2 hours or more comfortably combine the Seine with one nearby location.
How long does a couple session on the Quais de Seine last, and how many photos do we get?
My couple sessions on the Quais de Seine last for at least 2 hours: enough time to walk the river at a relaxed pace, because great photography takes time, especially on film. I shoot first on film, and can shoot digital alongside if you prefer. For a 2-hour session on film you’ll receive around 25 individually edited high-resolution images, delivered in a private online gallery.
Do you photograph proposals and engagements on the Quais de Seine?
Absolutely: the quays are one of the most romantic places in Paris to propose, with quiet stretches of riverbank perfect for a discreet setup. I’ll help you pick the spot, stay hidden until the moment, and capture the surprise as it happens, then we continue with a full engagement session along the river.
