at the Eiffel Tower

I’m Quentin, a couple photographer in Paris, creating timeless and intimate couple portraits around the Eiffel Tower, shot first on film. At sunrise, the Trocadéro esplanade and the quiet staircase of the Avenue de Camoëns are still empty: the most famous monument in the world, just for the two of you.

Couple photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower: Trocadéro, Avenue de Camoëns and the Seine

Everyone knows the postcard angle: almost no one knows there are four distinct settings within a twenty-minute walk of the Tower. A couple photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower moves between them on foot: the Trocadéro esplanade and its full frontal view across the Seine; the Avenue de Camoëns, a short, quiet street in the 16th that ends in a stone staircase aligned exactly with the Tower; the Pont de Bir-Hakeim, with its metal columns framing the Tower from the lower deck; and the Quais de Seine at the water’s edge below. We won’t squeeze all four into one session: we pick the two or three that suit you best and give each one the time it deserves.

Sunrise is the right call here. The Trocadéro fills up faster than anywhere else in Paris, but at first light the esplanade is close to empty and the Avenue de Camoëns stays quiet even longer. Sunset works too: we simply favour Bir-Hakeim and the quais, which absorb the evening crowds far better than the esplanade. And don’t fear an overcast or rainy forecast: film handles grey skies beautifully, and a wet esplanade gives your couple portraits reflections you can’t get on a dry day.

We usually meet at the Avenue de Camoëns or at metro Bir-Hakeim, depending on the route. My standard route starts on the Camoëns staircase while it’s still quiet, continues to the Trocadéro esplanade, then drops down to the Quais de Seine at the water’s edge. Prefer the metal columns of Bir-Hakeim? We make the bridge the start or the finish instead. The order is built around the crowds: the busiest spot earliest, the calmest ones last. You just have to show up together: I’ll take care of the route.

My approach

How I photograph couples at the Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is the one location where everyone arrives with the same image in mind, so my job is to give you that image and then everything around it. We get the frontal Trocadéro shot early, then spend the rest of the session where your portraits become yours: walking the Avenue de Camoëns, crossing Bir-Hakeim, sitting at the edge of the quais with the Tower behind you. The monument stays in the frame; the two of you stay the subject.

I’m a film-first photographer, and the Tower’s iron against the sky is exactly what film was made for: structure, contrast and texture that hold up in any weather. Expect gentle direction rather than posing: a prompt, a walk, a moment to yourselves while I keep shooting. The result is what I aim for everywhere: timeless and intimate couple portraits that feel true rather than staged.

Proposal

Planning to propose at the Eiffel Tower? The quais are my favourite spot for it: the water’s edge, the Tower behind you, and far fewer onlookers than the esplanade. I’ll stay discreet until the moment and capture the surprise as it happens.

Meet your photographer

A couple photographer in Paris who captures the way you are together

My name is Quentin, and I’m a couple photographer based in Paris. I’ve been drawn to photography for as long as I can remember, first as a way of paying attention to the world, then as a way of holding onto it. I’ve photographed couples around the Eiffel Tower at every hour, from the staircase of the Avenue de Camoëns to the columns of Bir-Hakeim, and it remains the place where I’ve learned the most about timing a session. I shoot first on film, photographing couples in all the corners of the city.

What sets my work apart isn’t a location or a pose: it’s connection. Before I ever raise the camera, I want to know what makes you laugh, how you found each other, the small details that are entirely your own. The more I understand your story, the more honestly I can tell it. My couple portraits in Paris are built on that intimacy: timeless and intimate images that feel true rather than staged, tender rather than performed.

Whether it’s a first shoot together, an engagement, or simply a reason to mark where you are right now, I bring an editorial eye and a documentary instinct to every session: capturing not just how you look, but how you feel when you’re with each other.

As a couple photographer in Paris, my hope is that years from now, these photographs still feel like you, proof of a timeless and intimate kind of love.

FAQ

Your questions about a couple photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower

How much does a couple photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower cost?

Couple sessions at the Eiffel Tower start from €649 for a 2-hour portrait session: the same rate as anywhere in Paris. It includes preparation (route, timing, outfit advice), the shoot, and a private gallery of individually edited high-resolution images. Full details are on the pricing page.

What is the best time of day for a couple photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower?

Sunrise, by a clear margin: the Trocadéro esplanade is close to empty at first light and the Avenue de Camoëns stays quiet even longer. Sunset works as well: we simply shift the session towards Bir-Hakeim and the quais, which handle evening crowds far better. Overcast or rainy days are no problem: film renders grey skies beautifully.

Where are the best views of the Eiffel Tower for couple portraits?

My four favourites, all within walking distance of each other: the Trocadéro esplanade for the full frontal view, the staircase of the Avenue de Camoëns for the same axis without the crowds, the lower deck of Pont de Bir-Hakeim for its metal columns, and the Quais de Seine for portraits at the water’s edge. We pick the two or three that suit your session best.

Isn’t the Trocadéro too crowded for a couple photoshoot?

From mid-morning, yes: it’s one of the busiest viewpoints in Paris. That’s why I build every Eiffel Tower route around timing: the esplanade at sunrise when it’s near-empty, then the quieter spots — Avenue de Camoëns, Bir-Hakeim, the quais — as the day fills up. Done in that order, you’ll barely notice the crowds.

How long does a couple session at the Eiffel Tower last, and how many photos do we get?

My couple sessions at the Eiffel Tower last for at least 2 hours: enough time to walk from the Avenue de Camoëns to the quais at a relaxed pace, because great photography takes time, especially on film. I shoot first on film, and can shoot digital alongside if you prefer. For a 2-hour session on film you’ll receive around 25 individually edited high-resolution images, delivered in a private online gallery.

Do you photograph proposals and engagements at the Eiffel Tower?

Absolutely: it’s the most requested proposal spot in Paris. My favourite setting for it is the Quais de Seine at the foot of the Tower: the water’s edge is far quieter than the esplanade, with the Tower in full view. I’ll stay hidden until the moment, capture the surprise as it happens, then we continue with a full engagement session around the Tower.
