in Paris
I’m Quentin, an engagement photographer in Paris making your first photographs as an engaged couple, shot first on film. An engagement session with me is a relaxed two-hour walk through the city: no stiff posing, just the two of you and the ring that’s still new on your hand. We shape the route around what you want, plan it together or leave it entirely to me, and I handle the timing and the light. All you have to do is enjoy being newly engaged in Paris.

Your first photographs as an engaged couple in Paris
An engagement session in Paris captures a chapter that lasts only once: the months between the yes and the wedding, when the ring is still a surprise every time you catch sight of it. As your engagement photographer in Paris, my job is to hold onto that exact feeling before the planning takes over. We meet at a spot we’ve chosen together and we walk: through quiet streets, along the river, under the trees of a garden. I photograph you moving, talking, laughing, glancing down at the ring, rather than holding fixed poses in front of a fixed background. The aim is simple: engagement photos that look like the two of you, newly engaged, on a real day in Paris.

What I care about most isn’t the location or the pose: it’s the connection between you, and right now that connection has a particular glow. Before I raise the camera I want to know how the proposal happened, how you found each other, the small details that are entirely your own, because the more I understand your story, the more honestly I can tell it. That’s the difference between a nice photo of two people in Paris and an engagement portrait that still feels like you on your tenth anniversary. Timeless and intimate is the whole point: tender rather than performed, true rather than staged.

An engagement session is also a head start on the wedding. It’s the first time you’ll see yourselves photographed as a couple by me, so you arrive at the wedding already comfortable in front of the camera, already trusting how I work. Many couples use these images for their save-the-dates, their wedding website, or simply the first framed print in a home they’re building together. Whatever you do with them, the session is built the same way: around the two of you, at an unhurried pace, on film.
The experience
How an engagement session in Paris works
Most couples who book an engagement session have never done a proper photoshoot, and tell me beforehand that they feel awkward in front of a camera. That’s normal, and the session is built to handle it. Everything is planned in advance so there are no decisions to make on the day: I send you the meeting point and timing, suggest what to wear, and we settle the route beforehand. Some couples have a clear idea of where they want their engagement photos taken and we build it together; others would rather leave it to me, and I map a route I know works, with set moments along the way. Structured, but never stiff. Within the first ten minutes of walking and talking, almost everyone forgets the camera is there.
On the day, I give gentle direction rather than poses: where to walk, where to look, a prompt to react to, then a moment to yourselves while I keep shooting. You don’t need to know what to do with your hands, and you don’t need to perform. My job is to put you at ease and catch the real moments in between: the way you look at each other now that it’s official, the quiet glance at the ring. The session lasts at least two hours, because good photography takes time, especially on film, and because the relaxed pace is exactly what makes the images feel natural. Afterwards I hand-edit your selects and deliver them in a private online gallery.
Shot on film
A film-first engagement photographer in Paris
I’m a film-first photographer: I shoot film first, and digital alongside it when it helps. For an engagement session that choice matters more than for almost anything else, because these are images you’ll keep for the rest of your life. Film is a deliberate decision, not nostalgia. It slows the session down, which is exactly what engagement photos need, and it renders skin, colour and light in a way digital still struggles to match. The grain and tones give the images a timeless quality, so the photographs of your engagement won’t look dated in five years the way an over-edited digital gallery can. For a 2-hour session you’ll receive around 25 individually edited high-resolution images.
Film also handles Paris weather better than people expect. There’s no such thing as bad weather for engagement photos: overcast skies give soft, even light, and rain renders beautifully on film, adding mood, texture and depth you simply can’t plan for. So if the forecast looks grey, don’t worry: some of my favourite engagement portraits in Paris were made on exactly those days. I bring an editorial eye and a documentary instinct to every session, on film, capturing not just how you look but how you feel now that you’re engaged.

A couple photographer in Paris who captures the way you are together
My name is Quentin, and I’m a couple photographer based in Paris. I’ve been drawn to photography for as long as I can remember, first as a way of paying attention to the world, then as a way of holding onto it. I work on both digital and film, photographing couples in all the corners of the city.
What sets my work apart isn’t a location or a pose: it’s connection. Before I ever raise the camera, I want to know what makes you laugh, how you found each other, the small details that are entirely your own. The more I understand your story, the more honestly I can tell it. My couple portraits in Paris are built on that intimacy: timeless and intimate images that feel true rather than staged, tender rather than performed.
Whether it’s a first shoot together, an engagement, or simply a reason to mark where you are right now, I bring an editorial eye and a documentary instinct to every session: capturing not just how you look, but how you feel when you’re with each other.
As a couple photographer in Paris, my hope is that years from now, these photographs still feel like you, proof of a timeless and intimate kind of love.

Your questions about an engagement session in Paris
How much does an engagement session in Paris cost?
An engagement session starts from 649 euros for a 2-hour portrait session: it's a couple session built around your engagement, at the same rate. It includes the planning (route, timing, outfit advice), the shoot itself, and a private online gallery of individually edited high-resolution images. There are no hidden extras: the rate is the same wherever in Paris we shoot.
How long is the session and how many photos do we get?
Sessions last at least two hours, which gives us time to walk at a relaxed pace, because great photography takes time, especially on film. I shoot first on film, and can shoot digital alongside if you prefer. For a 2-hour session on film you'll receive around 25 individually edited high-resolution images, delivered in a private online gallery.
We're not photogenic and we feel awkward in front of a camera. Is that a problem?
Not at all: it's the most common thing couples tell me, and the whole session is built around it. I give gentle direction rather than poses, and we spend the first few minutes just walking and talking. Almost everyone relaxes within ten minutes and forgets the camera is there. An engagement session is also good practice: you'll arrive at your wedding already comfortable with how I work.
Should we bring the ring, and will you photograph it?
Yes, bring it: the ring is part of the story right now, and I'll catch it naturally as we go, on a hand, a glance, a quiet moment, rather than staging a stiff ring close-up. If you'd like a few proper detail shots of it, just say so when we plan the session. Some people like to have their nails done beforehand; it's entirely up to you, and never required.
Can we use the photos as save-the-dates?
Absolutely, and many couples do. Your engagement images work beautifully for save-the-dates, a wedding website, or the first framed print in your home. You receive high-resolution files in a private online gallery, so you're free to print and share them however you like.
What should we wear, and what happens if it rains?
Wear something you feel like yourselves in: coordinated rather than matching, in calm tones that suit the city's stone and greenery, and comfortable shoes since we'll be walking. I send detailed outfit advice once your session is booked. As for weather, we shoot anyway and the results are often the best of all: overcast light is soft and flattering, and rain renders beautifully on film. If a real storm is forecast we'll simply move to another day.
